It is necessary
for a big machine to be used
for the initial clean up stage
of this type of floor. A fine
finishing machine hasn't
got the cutting ability to clean
off the old varnish. You therefore
need to use a fairly aggressive
grit grade. A 36 grit can sometimes
be sufficient on the big machine,
but you might need a 24 grit.
